We're only a couple of weeks away from the Purple Rumble – the start of the Road to WrestleMania 36.

For WWE, at present's the fourth dimension where things start to take shape, merely on Friday Night SmackDown it seems there are a few loose ends to tie up before some of the height names tin can make their plans clear for the show of shows.

Information technology's hard to imagine Roman Reigns and King Corbin still beingness embroiled in their feud past the time 'Mania rolls into Tampa Bay, Florida in April, and so this calendar week's episode of blue brand activity looks to have set up their big blow off match.

Towards the end of Friday'south broadcast, Reigns took to the ring and admitted 2022 had been a tough one for him personally.

In February, he announced his incredible comeback after overcoming leukaemia, merely in-ring he's been outnumbered for months, with Corbin proving to be a thorn in his side.

Now, he'south looking to win the Royal Rumble and get back to the main result of WrestleMania – Roman told the oversupply he'll do it with the Usos at his side.

Jimmy and Jey came out to join him (afterward making their massive return terminal calendar week) and said it's been tough watching him bargain with Corbin and his cronies while they've been on the sidelines.

The male monarch himself came out with Dolph Ziggler and vowed to win the Rumble friction match himself, after they'd put 'the big dog's bitches' downwardly.

The match itself was as smashing as you'd expect, only the real fun dame when The Revival came downward as a lark, and Roman would take out Corbin for the disqualification.

Reigns helped out the Usos only Bobby Roode made his return to give Corbin the advantage in one case once again.

The show came to a close equally Roode striking a spinebuster onto the announce table, with Ziggler's flight elbow sending Roman crashing through as the Male monarch stood tall.

Best of the residue

Kicking off the show, The Miz came out to try and explain his actions concluding calendar week when he attacked Kofi Kingston and ranted about the fans turning their back on him after all he's been through with Bray Wyatt.

He brought out John Morrison for a special edition of Miz TV, and JoMo is glad to exist back to defend his friend after 'one bad twenty-four hours'.

It wasn't the most exciting way to properly reintroduce him to the audience, just the intermission from Kofi – who then had a great lucifer with Miz – and the inevitable tag lucifer against the New Day will arrive all worth information technology!

Elsewhere, Daniel Bryan is set for another appointment with The Fiend at the Royal Rumble, and Bray's mind games continued.

Apparently, Bryan's been a 'naughty boy' and upset Him – and then naturally he'll have to be punished in a couple of weeks. The challenger – who said he tin hurt the Fiend – afterward received a gift after Ramblin' Rabbit teased that he knew a way to win, before existence hushed past Bray, not wanting his secrets revealed.

Nevertheless, the Firefly Funhouse friend has died another tragic death, with his pullet corpse placed in a box as Bray's battle continues.

It'due south another layer to an already fantastic story, as Bryan looks to truly overcome Wyatt and his sinister alter ego, and leave the Royal Rumble in Houston with the WWE Universal championship. Until so, nosotros'll have to run into if he can handle what the Fiend throws his way.
